WASTE MANAGEMENT KEEPS FOLKS SAFE DURING MONSTER
TRUCKS SHOW THIS WEEKEND AT FAIRGROUNDS

Palmdale, CA, September 19, 2007 – Waste Management not only will be collecting the trash from the Monster Truck Show this weekend, at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, but they will be keeping the fans safe through the delivery and placement of huge construction roll off containers and storage boxes. The containers will be placed in front of the grandstands, between the fans and the Monster Trucks, to keep spectators safe.

“It takes us almost a full day to deliver those containers and place them correctly to keep the crowd safe,” said Bill Minnis, District Operations Manager for Waste Management. “Then it will take another day to pick them up again. It keeps the Monsters from climbing into the stands and hurting anyone.”

Waste Management is one of the major sponsors for this event. You will be able to see one of Waste Management’s trash trucks in the “Big Boy Toys” section of the arena. There will also be a Waste Management booth where WM employees will be handing out information about recycling and talking “trash” to the public.

“This is another way for Waste Management to be a good partner with the AV community. The children just love to see the big trash trucks,” said Janette Crawford, Community Relations Manager for Waste Management. “They will be able to climb up into one and take a look at all the levers and gauges.”

The Monster Truck Show is Friday, September 21st from 6 PM to 10 PM and on Saturday the 22nd from 11 AM to 10 PM at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds on Avenue H and the 14 Freeway.

Waste Management has served the Antelope Valley for over 35 years and is proud to be a community partner to AV residents, and an environmental steward of its unique natural resources.
