WASTE MANAGEMENT AT THURSDAY NIGHT ON THE SQUARE

Palmdale, CA, August 20, 2007 – Waste Management, a proud member of the Palmdale Community, is pleased to have a strong presence for Thursday Night on the Square.

Waste Management’s new community relations’ managers, Janette Crawford and Sandra Pursley and our recycling manager, Lisa Hemenway have been enjoying Thursday Nights on the Square.

Waste Management staff discussed how residents and businesses could increase their recycling efforts and show samples of what types of items should be disposed in each of the bins provided to residents.

Waste Management gave away Jethawks tickets, activity books, recycled goods, and educational material to the residents that stopped by our booth.

“This event is about community, and Waste Management is about community,” said Bill Minnis, Operations Manager. “It is an opportunity for us to talk to the residents of the Antelope Valley and answer all their questions. Everything from where should I place my cans on the street or on the sidewalk, to do we have a place to bring toxic waste.”

“Sandra and I love being out in the community, meeting people and answering their questions,” said Janette Crawford, Community Relations Manager. “The music, the food, the kids! It is just a fun place to be.”

Waste Management has served the Antelope Valley for over 35 years and is proud to be a community partner to AV residents, and an environmental steward of its unique natural resources.
